Reminder: Local Section Election Today

The Wyoming Local Section of the American Chemical Society is holding our annual election for Chair and Member-at-Large. Please submit your vote by today, November 30, 2020. If you are a dues-paying member of the Wyoming Local Section you will have already received information regarding the Section Election.

Member-at-Large Candidate Bios:

Dr. Joseph Holles is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at University of Wyoming. He has been a member of ACS since 2000 and is a member of the Catalysis Science and Technology technical division. He holds a PhD from the University of Virginia and complete a post-doctoral appointment at the California Institute of Technology. His research is in the area of bimetallic overlayer catalysts to examine binding effects of products and reactants on reactivity, and dry reforming of methane. He has 39 peer reviewed publications and is a registered Professional Engineer. He is also an avid woodworker and has received numerous awards for his work.

Denise M. Martin is the chief executive officer and primary stockholder of Materials Technologies Laboratories (MTL). She is a senior Executive with 25 years of experience in materials testing, corporate planning and management. The company focus is testing for aerospace with a secondary customer base in the commercial product market. In the spring of 2020 the McClellan, CA test laboratory was sold. Mrs. Martin will continue to provide training and support services in fatigue and thermal analysis to Martin Testing Labs as she transitions into retirement. Currently, Denise manages MTL Failure Analysis in Alpine WY. She and husband Perry have ownership in Truox, Inc. a producer of oxidizers specializing in water treatment. She is a member of the American Chemical Society, North American Thermal Analysis Society, and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. She holds a BS in Chemistry, California State University, Sacramento, BSBA Corporate Management, California State University, East Bay, Working towards MS Astrophysics and Astronomy, Arizona State University.
